Displaying Your Wild Art

The art that I create is as unique as the natural world, and people often ask how best to display their pieces. For the birch bark pieces, I have found that using a shadow box or double paned glass frame that can hold the piece works well. This also allows you to enjoy the full beauty of both sides of the bark – painted by me, or painted by nature. Others have had success in displaying their pieces by affixing a wire across the back and just hanging it on a wall. Depending on the humidity in your home, this may result in some curling of the birch bark. Birch bark is quite forgiving, and if it curls beyond what you desire, you can try to moisten the non-painted side and gently press the piece with books as it dries to restore its flatness.

Birch rounds, antlers, stones, and other items that I paint are relatively stable and can be displayed on shelves, walls, or hung as you wish.

I’m always interested in seeing my work in its new home, so please let me know how you choose to display it! If you have questions or need ideas, please let me know!
